MISSION PARTNERS
The church supports
several of its members who are involved in full time Christian service in a
number of areas.
Iain & Elizabeth McCallum: Youth and pastoral ministry.
Bill & Margaret McGibbon: Prison ministry.
Colin & Margaret MacPhie: Viewpark Christian Fellowship.

Church missionary outreach
Cartsbridge Church continues to develop its vision on Witness and Service by supporting a wide variety of ministries in the UK and overseas. Our support is both financial and practical. Over the last year approximately £70 000 has been gifted through the church. This includes £20 000 and £5 500 raised at Gift Days held in support of Zambia and Tanzania respectively.
SCOTLAND and EUROPE
- Support of workers in Christian Outdoors Centres at the Abernethy Outdoor Centre and Teen Ranch France. These centres give teenagers the opportunity to hear the Gospel whilst enjoying outdoor activities
- Projects with underprivileged people in Glasgow including 3D Drumchapel, a Christian community project; and Open Doors Trust
- Prison work and rehabilitation through the Offenders Project
- Support of a full time worker in Viewpark, near Motherwell
- Full-time missionary working with Christian Witness to Israel in Glasgow (supported by her home church in Taiwan)
- Support of the Silas project in Turkey. The project goals include increasing the number of believers, having a church in every province and getting a Bible into every home in Turkey
- Business development in Romania has assisted the growth of a car garage business based on ethical Christian principles and the building of a church to support a growing congregation
ASIA
- Cartsbridge continues its partnership with a project in Nepal that focuses on Bible Correspondence Courses, Church Planting and Discipleship Training
AFRICA
- Support of a training programme for church leaders in Rwanda. The great strength of the church and its people is evangelism and their great need is leadership training.
- Financial support helping the GLO Zambia bible college to build a new kitchen and dining room.
- Support of a full-time worker in Tanzania involves mentoring girls at a Christian school
SOUTH AMERICA
- A prison ministry is underway working with the children and wives of the male prisoners
GENERAL
- Church members are assisting in many other ways to spread the Good News. These include: the Gideons International; CARE; SIM; Scripture Union; Operation Christmas Child; teaching and studying at Tilsley College, Motherwell; knitting for babies in Africa and Tear Fund.
- This year several young people from Cartsbridge have taken gap years to assist with Kick, a branch of Youth for Christ, the BMS Uganda Action Team and the Abernethy Outdoor Centre. Others are working with Christians In Sport in Edinburgh and OMNIvision, the group that provides videos for Operation Mobilisation, in Carlisle. One member is teaching in a Christian school in Thailand.
- Young people from Cartsbridge continue to help with missions at home and abroad. This includes our summer King’s Club for children, Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Poland, Church Mission in Bridge of Weir, Scripture Union camps and other children’s camps at home and abroad as well as inner city ministry.
