WORSHIP
Worship and Communion
Service
You may find this service rather different from other church services you have
attended! The object is to remember the Lord Jesus in the way He Himself asked
of His followers, by breaking bread and drinking wine - commonly known as Communion
or The Lord's Supper. The bread reminds us of the body in which the Lord lived
a perfect life and in which He suffered and died for mankind. The wine symbolises
the blood of Christ which was shed on the cross so that we can have forgiveness
of our sins and be brought into a right relationship with God. No one person
conducts the service as this is the responsibility of the men in the congregation,
some of whom will suggest a hymn, pray or perhaps read from and comment on the
Scriptures. AIl these personal contributions are designed to help us in our
public worship.
If you acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord you are warmly invited
to take communion with us. If you are unsure about taking the bread and wine
please do not feel embarrassed, simply pass them to the person next to you.
Our prayer is that we will all have a deep sense of the Lord's presence as we
meet to remember Him.
